Mortality Rate

Collusion in Genocide at the top:
Despite a growing death rate due to tuberculosis, caused by the murderous practices documented by Dr. Bryce, DIA Superintendent Duncan Campbell Scott abolished the post of Medical Inspector for Indian Agencies in February, 1919, with the result that death from tuberculosis among Indians skyrocketed (see Table at bottom of page). Attendance in these death-trap "schools" was then made compulsory for all native children in Canada, under a federal law passed in 1920.
